Eleanor A. Wever

Mrs. Eleanor A. Wever posted bond for Mrs. Carolann Smith on Monday, April 10, 1944. She also posted bond for Ella Howard, accused of murder, on April 4, 1943.

Mrs. Eleanor A. Wever was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 19, 1878 as Eleanor A. Stewart. She was the daughter of William Stewart (1838 – 1907) and Kate Stewart (1847 – 1920). Eleanor married Carl Carson Wever (1877-1959) on April 26, 1906. She was 28 years old and Carl was 29.

Mr. Wever was an attorney and worked for various banks and energy companies throughout his career. Mr. and Mrs. Wever were high society. In 1917 Mr. and Mrs. Wever relocated to Casper, Wyoming because Mr. Wever got a job with the Exploration Oil and Gas company.

In 1924 Mr. Fay Smith was relocated by his employer, Williamsport Wire Rope company, to Casper, Wyoming. His wife, Mrs. Carolann Smith, participated in the events provided by the wives of high society, which is where she most likely met Mrs. Eleanor Wever. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Wever remained friends for several years. Mrs. Wever died at the age of 73 in 1951. Her grave is in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
