Rothline - Bigfoot Stories

White River Bigfoot

On the 22nd of September 1988 two brothers and a few friends were hunting for artifacts in North Central Arkansas.

They were in Old Bat Cave, which is in a remote area of the Ozarks near White River.

The cave had a musky odor, and they found something resembling a nest: made of branches, pine needles, and animal bones.

Later, when they left the cave some large rocks fell from the ridge above.

Concerned that an avalanche may occur they quickly made their way down a hill to a path that lead back to their trucks.

At the bottom of the hill they turned and looked up at the ridge and saw something moving.

A friend that had binoculars looked, and what he saw was shocking: a creature with brownish hair and a gorilla shaped head was running down the hill from the ridge.

Each one with disbelief looked with the binoculars to only be shocked themselves: a tall brownish gorilla was coming after them.

Had they disturbed the creature’s nest? Had they made the creature mad?

They did not know but ran the rest of the way to the trucks.

One of the brothers was so frightened he broke a door handle as he yanked a truck door open.

By the time they loaded into the trucks and started to leave, the creature was already at the bottom of the hill running towards them.

They speed away in their trucks, made it to a gravel road, and were headed towards a main road when they heard a loud bang.

The creature chasing after them had thrown a baseball sized rock and hit one of the trucks.

The creature was also quickly catching up with the trucks and they were traveling at 35 to 40 miles an hour.

When they made it to a main road, the creature stopped chasing them, and went back into the woods.

A month later when the brothers were visiting their uncle, they told him about the incident.

The uncle knew of the area, and he had heard stories about a gorilla-like creature living in the caves.

He wanted to see for himself, so the brothers took him to visit Old Bat Cave.

However, they found that the area had been blocked with a fence and gate by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

They contacted the commission to find out why, and they were told that the area had become unsafe for people to explore.

These brothers and friends were positive that they had encountered a Bigfoot.
